In an unexpected turn of events, the OpenAI board is considering reinstating Sam Altman as CEO just 24 hours after his abrupt dismissal. Altman, a pioneer in the field of generative AI and the driving force behind ChatGPT's development, was fired on Friday due to a purported "breakdown in communication" with the board. What Happened Altman was back in talks with OpenAI executives on Saturday night. Investors are reportedly discussing damage control, including possibly pushing the board to restore Altman as CEO. Kholsa Ventures, an early backer of OpenAI, wants Altman back at OpenAI but 'will back him in whatever he does next.' Microsoft, which owns 49 percent of OpenAI, declined to comment.
