Chinese-owned shopping platforms, such as Temu, Shein, and TikTok Shop, are venturing overseas and reshaping global e-commerce. Temu, launched in the U.S., had more than 61 million monthly active users in September 2023, selling in 48 countries. Chinese sellers aim to shed the "made in China" reputation and export whole brands, benefiting from access to consumers worldwide.
