25dNothing Chats 🔷
intl.nothing.tech
Nothing have just announced their new app: Nothing Chats, that gives the opportunity to have iMessage on Android.
That's a features that other apps already have, like Beeper or Texts. I personally use Beeper daily but I've never used this feature as in Europe everybody uses WhatsApp (or Telegram).
What do you think? Is there someone from US that can explain me the issues with iMessage? 👀

The fact the western world is hyping over a Chinese company that compromises security and privacy is insane

Is sunbird based in china?
Privacy Is A Human Right
Sunbird is closed-source, so it doesn't matter where it's based. Might as well be called "NSA Messenger".

Yes, registered in England by a Chinese proxy, which makes it still affiliated with China; never be fooled by the registration country.
TikTok, the Chinese app that’s ruining the next generation, is also registered in the US by a Chinese proxy.

There's no reason to pander to iPhone users when actually secure, and actually private third-party messaging apps like Signal exist.

that's what I thought, why pushing in this direction when there are lots of alternatives?
I wanted to reach someone from the us to better understand this situation as it makes very little sense to me

good luck converting all your friends and family to use something like Signal. I, at least, failed.

I spent some time traveling across the U.S. (remote work FTW), and before I started I told everyone, "If you want pictures, I'm creating a group on this app called Signal. Here's the link to the group if you want to join." It worked 💪😏.

The root of the issue is that everyone in America uses regular sms texting as the primary chat app. iPhones automatically switch you to using iMessage when you are texting another iPhone user which adds extra features to those chats. Android has RCS which it uses when texting another android phone with RCS enabled but the two services are unable to communicate with each other so when an android and iPhone user text each other they are downgraded to regular sms messaging which lacks many features and is awful for sending pictures and videos (they all get horribly compressed).
