Tesla's top rival, BYD, delivered over 911,000 EVs in 2022, coming close to surpassing Tesla's 1.31 million deliveries for the year. EV makers like Nissan, Polestar, Hyundai, General Motors, Ford, and Volvo are ramping up production of their electric SUVs and crossovers to compete with Tesla's Model Y. BYD is set to reveal its new Sea Lion 07 electric SUV at the Guangzhou International Motor Show, designed by former Audi designer Wolfgang Egger, but availability in the U.S. is unknown.
