Making money from budgeting apps is challenging because few people want help with their budgets and are willing to pay for it. Intuit will shut down budgeting app Mint on Jan 1, joining a graveyard of failed startups in the financial responsibility space. Lack of demand and willingness to pay are the key reasons why a killer money-saving app still doesn't exist.
