Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed on fundamental principles for a peace treaty to end hostilities, but they still struggle to communicate diplomatically. The agreement was mediated by the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, and came as a result of meetings between the leaders of both countries. Armenia has proposed a prisoner swap, seeking the release of all Armenian prisoners in exchange for all Azerbaijani prisoners.
