23dArtifact is becoming a place for conversation
With the news breaking today about Sama/OpenAI, of course 𝕏 was blowing up… but so was Artifact.
I could easily see Artifact continuing to gain momentum as a true place for conversation—especially during “breaking news” events. 🗞️

I find it easier to converse here than on Mastodon/Bluesky. X is too crowded for interaction so I mostly consume. Plus I don't have a very large followership like I do on say Facebook.
But here? Artifact has FB vibes when it comes to exchanges. And the loveliest part is that everyone on here is a news lover so y'all are people one can relate to one way or the other.

It is. Please how did you type that X that looks exactly like the new X logo?

𝕏 is a Unicode symbol so I just made a text replacement where if I type Twitter/x on my keyboard, it automatically replaces to 𝕏

Got it. Nice. I don't know if it's possible using a mobile keyboard though. I use SwiftKey on Android.

I mean, community is developing more like X's community. Yet, it's still less crowded and hence conversation is easier to handle.
Point is, without anything like fact checking in the platform, misinformation may spread with further ease with respect to X.
Maybe AI could be implemented to compare (e.g. politics) news articles to see any common point with reputable sources coverage of the same topic?

AI moderation might be an interesting angle here, or Artifact’s version of “community notes”

I feel like the conversations here are more authentic because people don't simply want to increase their followers 😅

I agree! Conversation > posturing for followers

Why are we having conversation here in the first place? To be right?
Evan Stewart
IMO there is something noble and worthwhile in the open and respectful exchange of ideas.
Great things happen in the doing, doing only happens after thinking, and thinking well is only possible after exposure to new ideas, perspectives, and context.

Why are you conversing here? Nobody is forcing you to click on the comments.
