"Data" is a misleading term as it encompasses various collections specific to different applications. The value lies in the flow of activity and interactions within networks, not in the data itself. Discussions around AI and data resemble past debates about databases, with the focus on what can be done with the information rather than the quantity of data.

But the flow is also data... claiming it not worth anything and comparing it to sand instead of oil seem silly to me, since sand is worth something. Sure some data seem worthless to some. Like all the navigation data from London Black Cabs might not be worth something for Walmart but I'm pretty sure UPS whould be happy to get their hands on it.
