Niantic's Peridot game will use AI to make its AR pets behave more realistically, using generative AI to analyze real-world objects and simulate interactions with each pet's personality type. This AI-powered system allows for a greater variety of reactions and makes use of underused animation assets in the game. Niantic aims to make Peridot's pets more lifelike, but hopefully without replicating the undesirable aspects of owning a real cat.
