There's something so uplifting about the recent articles of how AI are improving things like weather forecasting or the future of science, or a robot that can help make oxygen on Mars. In spite of existential risks which are definitely augmented by this technology, remaining technological optimists is an attractive alternative to getting caught up in the drama. If humanity and civilization is to carry on we need to see the long game.
