What makes this any better than the other similar apps? Hasn’t been updated in over a year and requires a login without linking to Apple or Google or anything. Seems very meh to me and likely abandoned.

I’ve been seeing so many similar apps recently. Can someone explain? Why are there suddenly so many rss and link saving applications?

Because news consumption getting more diverse, some people prefer to save in specific apps to avoid overload in one app, that is my guess only.
