Scientists have discovered a quasicrystal, thought to be impossible, in a piece of trinitite created during the first nuclear bomb test in 1945. Quasicrystals have a unique atomic arrangement that does not repeat, unlike traditional crystals. This discovery may lead to a better understanding of nuclear explosions and assist in nuclear forensics.
