Nothing changes as to the reason why they wanted it implemented. It was never about larger file sizes or read receipts. It’s that they were differentiated by green bubbles. I love to see how Google will spin this into a win.

No it's not. It's a marketing gimmick. Apple has always been a marketing company that happens to make technology products. Going all the way back to the "1984" ad.
