24dI love RSS! Adding a RSS Feeds page to my website
josemunozmatos.com
I have been a fan of RSS since the Google Reader days, and I recently read a post by Robb discussing the difficulty of finding RSS feeds on personal websites. While my feeds have always been accessible in the nav footer of my site, I wanted to make them even more discoverable.
To achieve this, I created a dedicated Feeds page on my website. Now, when visitors click on the RSS link in the nav, instead of automatically opening the feed URL in another tab, it directs them to this Feeds page. This allows me to explain RSS to those who may not be familiar with it and showcase my various feeds for different content.
The content of the Feeds page was heavily inspired by Cory Dransfeldt’s website.
As I built my website using Webflow, exposing the feeds was a straightforward process. In the custom code section, I added the snippets mentioned by Robb in his article to the head code. I made sure to include both of my RSS feed URLs.
Since I also have difficulty finding other people’s RSS feed buttons, I use a shortcut created by Federico Vittici from Mac Stories. This shortcut scrapes a site for its RSS feed URLs and adds them to your clipboard for easy pasting into your RSS reader. However, the shortcut only works if the feeds have been correctly exposed, as Robb explains. Interestingly, the shortcut was not working on my site initially, but after exposing the feeds in the header of my page, it started working flawlessly.
I am excited to have made my RSS feeds more discoverable and hope that it enhances the experience for my readers who are also RSS enthusiasts.

I am a big fan of RSS too! When we launched Peerlist, the most asked integration was RSS. So that users could add their blogs on their Peerlist profile.
